The short version
  • The Braylin Selvig Terms still apply. These add rules for Sports.
  • Scores, stats and news come from public sources like ESPN and can be late or wrong. Sports isn't affiliated with any league or team.
  • Fantasy is just for fun: no entry fees, prizes or betting, and nothing here is betting advice.
  • Commissioners run their leagues. Scoring is automatic and can change when stats are corrected.
  • Play fair: one team per league, no collusion, no exploiting bugs, keep chat friendly.
  • Sports is free and can change. If these terms change, we'll ask you to agree again.

This summary is here to help. The full text below is what actually applies.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Sports Terms") cover Sports at sports.braylinselvig.com ("Sports"), run by Braylin Selvig ("we," "us," or "our"). Sports is a Connected Site under the Braylin Selvig Terms of Service (the "Account Terms"), which you accepted when you created your Braylin Selvig account.

The Account Terms still apply to everything you do on Sports, including their rules on acceptable use, your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law. These Sports Terms add rules for Sports' own features. If the two conflict, these Sports Terms control for Sports only. Our Sports Privacy Notice is part of these terms.

By checking the box that says you agree, or by using Sports while signed in, you accept these Sports Terms. You can read scores and stats without signing in; these terms still apply to how you use them.

2. Who can use Sports

Signing in to Sports requires a Braylin Selvig account, which means you must be 18 or older and meet the other requirements in the Account Terms. Use only your own account, and don't let anyone else play under it.

3. Scores, stats, and news

Scores, schedules, standings, statistics, player and team information, logos, and news on Sports come from third-party public sources, currently including ESPN. They can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and sources can change or correct them after the fact. We don't guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or timeliness, and you shouldn't rely on Sports where being late or wrong would cost you something.

Sports is an independent project. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ESPN or any league, team, conference, or player. League, team, and player names, logos, and other marks belong to their owners and appear only to identify them. News headlines link to their publishers, whose own terms apply when you visit.

You may use what you see on Sports for your own personal, non-commercial use. Don't copy, scrape, or republish it in bulk, or use Sports as a data feed for another product.

4. No betting or real-money contests

Sports is for entertainment. It is not a sportsbook, a gambling service, or a paid fantasy contest. There are no entry fees, prizes, or payouts on Sports, and nothing on it, including scores, odds, win probabilities, rankings, projections, or CPU trade decisions, is betting, financial, or professional advice.

You agree not to use Sports to run, advertise, or collect money for any wager, pool, or contest with entry fees or prizes. We don't handle, hold, or track money and aren't a party to any arrangement you make with other people. If you make one anyway, it's entirely between you and them, at your own risk, and you are responsible for following the law where you live.

5. Fantasy leagues

  • Commissioners. Whoever creates a league is its commissioner. The commissioner can change league settings, add or remove teams, fill open spots with CPU managers, and start, pause, or resume the draft, as the app allows. Commissioners should run their league fairly and in good faith.
  • Invites. Anyone with a league's invite link can see its name and size and, while there's room, join it. Share invite links only with people you want in your league.
  • CPU managers and autopick. Open spots can be managed by the computer, and Sports may pick for you if your draft clock runs out. CPU teams make their own draft, lineup, and trade decisions; those decisions are final once made.
  • Scoring. Points are calculated automatically from the stats our sources report, under your league's scoring settings. Stats are often corrected after games end, so scores can change until a week is final. We may fix scoring, schedule, or roster errors, including after the fact, and the results Sports records are the official results of your league.
  • Lineups and transactions. Players lock at their game's kickoff. Lineup changes, adds, drops, and trades take effect as Sports processes them. If something fails to save because of a bug or outage, we may not be able to restore it.
  • Seasons. Leagues follow the real NFL season. We may archive or remove past seasons, and may reset, pause, or end a league that is broken, abandoned, or being used in a way that breaks these terms.

6. Fair play

On top of the acceptable-use rules in the Account Terms, you agree not to:

  • manage more than one team in the same league, or use extra accounts to control or influence a league;
  • collude with other managers, such as lopsided trades meant to help one team, or deliberately field a weak lineup to affect someone else's result;
  • exploit bugs, timing, or the CPU managers' trade logic in ways the game clearly isn't meant to work (please report bugs to support@braylinselvig.com instead);
  • send automated or excessive requests to Sports, for example to scrape data or refresh pages far faster than a person would; or
  • harass other managers or post anything in team names, league names, or league chat that you couldn't post under the Account Terms.

Commissioners can remove teams from their league, and we may remove content, reverse transactions, remove you from a league, or restrict your access to Sports if we believe you've broken these rules.

7. What you add to Sports

Team names, abbreviations, league names, lineups, trade offers and notes, and chat messages are your content under the Account Terms, and you keep your rights in them. They're shown to the other people in that league, and league activity (such as drafts, trades, and adds and drops) is recorded in the league's history. Your Sports settings, such as favorite teams and colors, are private to you.

8. Changes to Sports and these terms

Sports is a free, independent project. We may add, change, or remove features, sports, or leagues, or shut Sports down, as described in the Account Terms.

We may update these Sports Terms. When we make a material change, we'll update the effective date and version above and ask you to agree again the next time you use Sports while signed in. If you don't agree, you can stop using Sports.
